New Library Service for Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire County Council have outlined their plans and vision for libraries in the county.

On Friday 20th January 2012, the Cabinet will look at the new proposals about libraries. The Cabinet will be asked to approve a six-week consultation, to start on the 30th January 2012, for the public to have their say about the new proposals.

The proposal suggests:

• Main Libraries - 9 libraries open 6 days a week
• Local Libraries - 12 libraries open across 5 days a week
• Partnership Libraries - 10 libraries run by the county in partnership with communities
• Community Offer Libraries - 7 libraries available to the community
